MS9492, MS9521, MS9686, MS9783, MS9785 and MS9805 engine bolts
Single-diameter hex head machine bolts from the SAE aerospace propulsion series, UNJF-3A, in A286, 8740 alloy steel and 17-4 PH.
MS9492–MS9805 engine bolts, machined to the standard.
Each of these sheets covers one thread size; the dash number is the length. MS9492 is A286 (AMS 5731) full shank, 3/8-24. MS9521 is 8740 alloy steel, cadmium plated, 3/8-24. MS9686 is AMS 6304 steel with diffused nickel-cadmium plate, drilled head, pitch-diameter shank, 1/4-28. MS9783 (#10-32) and MS9785 (5/16-24) are 17-4 PH full shank; MS9805 (#10-32) is 17-4 PH with a pitch-diameter shank. All six were cancelled in 1999 and are now the identically numbered SAE AS standards.

How Cyclone makes them
Bar stock certified to the material specification is cut, turned and threaded to the standard’s dimensions, with drilled heads or shanks and head markings as the part number requires. Plating and locking elements are applied through partner facilities to the standard.
Lead time
Quoted on each order. Because the parts are machined from bar rather than scheduled through a heading run, lead time is set by machining capacity and material availability. Ask for the current lead time with your RFQ.
Quality
Cyclone’s published certifications include AS9100D, AS9120B, ISO 9001:2015, API Spec Q1, API 20E and API 20F. See quality and certifications.
Documentation
Material test reports and certificates of conformance ship with the order. Additional inspection reports and documentation are quoted to the purchase order.
Questions before you quote
Why do these have both MS and AS numbers?
The MS sheets were cancelled in 1999 and superseded by SAE standards with the same number. Drawings still call out the MS number; Cyclone quotes to the current AS revision.
Does Cyclone stock these?
No. Every part is made to order from certified bar, which is why there is no minimum quantity and why the quote confirms sizes and lead time.
Can you quote a cancelled or superseded number?
Yes. Many MS sheets were reissued as NASM or SAE AS standards with the part numbers unchanged. Send the number on your drawing and the quote names the current document.
