Manufacturing overview

Hex bolts & cap screws, defined by the order.

From conventional hex-head geometry to a drawing-specific component, Cyclone’s manufacturing team reviews your dimensions, material, finish, and inspection requirements before committing to production. The technical library includes dimensional references for hex cap screws and heavy hex bolts.

Customer-specified materialStandard or custom dimensions
  • Hex and heavy hex configurations
  • Partial or full thread requirements
  • Identification and documentation as specified

Specify material grade and condition, dimensions, thread series/class, quantity, finish, required delivery, and documentation.

Hex Bolts & Cap Screws

Define the part. Align the requirement.

A hex bolt RFQ needs more than diameter and length. Head geometry, grip length, thread engagement and the specified material condition define the part that arrives at assembly. Cyclone reviews conventional hex-head, heavy-hex and drawing-specific headed fasteners against the purchase requirements.

Geometry and dimensions

Identify hex, heavy hex or cap-screw geometry. Supply nominal diameter, under-head length, grip length, head dimensions and any drawing-controlled features. Sizes are reviewed by the team for the specific part.

Material and standard

State the exact material specification, grade, condition and required revision. Cyclone’s technical library contains separate dimensional references for hex cap screws and heavy hex bolts; include the governing reference in the RFQ.

Thread definition

Specify full or partial thread, thread series, pitch, class and any runout or engagement limits. Include the mating component when its fit controls acceptance.

Finish and marking

Define the coating system, thickness or allowance, and required marking location. Plain, coated and plated requirements are reviewed with the material and thread requirements together.

Questions before you quote

Are hex bolts and cap screws interchangeable?

Do not substitute from the product name alone. Use the geometry, tolerances and governing standard specified by the responsible engineer. Send those requirements with the inquiry.

Can I request a drawing-specific headed fastener?

Yes. Include the drawing revision, material, quantity, critical dimensions and inspection requirements so Cyclone can review machining scope and delivery.

What size range can I order?

Confirm diameter, length, head size and thread requirements with the team. This page does not state a universal manufacturing envelope for all headed parts.
